[LD22exec] two things re. Feb. 24 strategy session

Hello all,

After talking to Debbie I have come to the conclusion that we should
reschedule our meeting. Russ and I have spent a few hours planning for this
strategy session and have a tight outline that we can work from, so I do not
feel that we have to try to force meeting prior to the State Chairs Strategy
Session on March 3 & 4. We will be presenting out strategy to the PCO Body
at our April meeting so we have some time. Debbie and I have come up with
the following three choices for the new date:

*         Sunday February 25th  from 12-4pm;

*         Saturday March 17th from 12-4pm; or

*         Saturday March 24th from 12-4pm.

My first choice is March 17th, though I am free for all dates and times.
Let me know your preference. I am sorry for any stress this puts on your
schedules. Thank you!

Peace,

Jim

We could cancel and meet after or sometime during the State Chairs

Strategy Session.

Debby here. Two things I need to go over with you all re. the Feb. 24

strategy session.

1st - I sent an email to the TCDems Faith Community list asking for one

of them to attend the Crop Walk planning meeting on Feb. 24, as

I have a care meeting w/ my siblings and the staff at my mom's

assisted living facility, followed by the 22nd LD strategy session,

and I can't be both those places and at the Crop Walk meeting. Well,

much to my surprise I got an email back from Linda Davis saying that

she and Kent couldn't attend the Crop Walk meeting but wanted to attend

the 22nd LD strategy session in the afternoon.

I never even thought when I sent out the email to the Faith

Community

list, which is quite a small list, that anyone reading the email would

interpret it to mean that the 22nd LD strategy session was something

they should attend, or would want to attend.

So, I wrote her back and told her that it was a meeting of the

executive committee of the 22nd LD to make strategies re. recruiting

PCOs and to prepare for the Chairs strategy session the next weekend

where we were to take up Dwight Pelz' "Chairs Challenge." I told her

that the 22nd

EC would be reporting back to the 22nd membership, and to the Thur. Co.

membership at large, on both strategy sessions.

Just wanted you all to know that it is possible that we'll have

other

22nd LD members who may express interest in the strategy session.

2nd - The care meeting was scheduled by the assisted living staff to

enable my siblings (there are 6 of us total...one is in Florida but the

other 5 plan to attend) to come from Portland, Washougal and Seattle to

this meeting. They can't schedule it on Sunday as the social worker,

activity director, etc. don't work on Sunday, but do work on alternate

Saturdays, and the 24th is one they work. So, depending on how long it

goes,

and whatever family meeting we might have afterwards, I may be late to

the strategy session. Just wanted to give you a head's up on that.

I don't know if it will be a problem for me to be late. The only other

solution I can think of is to move the strategy session to Sunday

afternoon, or just catch me up later on the parts I missed. I have to

be at the care meeting, as I am the one who has had the day to day

history of all that's happened w/ my mom and her health,

hospitalizations, physical therapy and etc.

I know this is a rather heavy email, as far as things to think about.

Sorry.

Talk to you soon...
