Hi all,
I would like us to host a candidates forum, but not at our regular
meeting.  Our main goal should be to encourage voters to consider voting
for Democrats.  The people who attend the TCD meetings have ample access
to the campaigns already.  If we hold a forum at one of our meetings we
are only stirring the pot and possibly risking creating a situation open
to criticize about fairness and process from the campaigns.  However an
open community forum that would attract people who otherwise would not
have access to the candidates could be beneficial to the campaigns and
TCD.  Please comment.

Debby here. At this week's TCDExComm meeting we discussed the idea of
using part of the time of the 22nd LD meeting for the first part of an
Olympia City Council candidate forum, with the rest of it at the start
of
the TCD meeting, like we did a few months ago when Dwight came down to
do
the Chair's Challenge.

  There are three seats on the Oly City Council that have Democrats w/
campaign services running against each other.
I asked at the TCDEC meeting about the Tumwater and Lacey City Council
races but they reminded me that the Dems have not been asked for, or
given
campaign services to, any Democrats challengers....i.e. no Dem is
running
against Russ.

What do you think of this idea?
