Absolutely, Commissioner Kreidler would be a great speaker on this
issue.

We might also see if Commissioner Kreidler would like to speak.

Jim,
Our law makers passed the Insurance Fair Conduct Act because it
protects consumers from unfair treatment , as evidence by an estimated
4,100 complaints of insurance industry misconduct filed every year
with
the office of the Insurance Commissioner ranging from severely delayed
claims to wrongly denied, legitimate claims. Referendum 67 would make
it illegal for insurance companies to unreasonably deny or delay
payment
of a legitimate claim. The out of state insurance industry is running
a
deceptive campaign to defeat Referendum 67, falsely claiming to
represent customers. The insurance industry dose not want to be held
accountable and has already spent over one million dollars to defeat
referendum 67. We need to do what we can to inform voters that
Referendum 67 is a consumer protection issue and that Democrats
support
it. I'm sure Representative Brendan Williams is well informed on the
issue. We might ask Rep. Williams if he is available to comment on
this
important consumer protection issue.
Thanks
Zach

Hello! How is everyone?
Wow I have not used this list in awhile; I just got myself too busy
with
life!
So we have a quarterly meeting on Monday the 23rd. I have little for
ideas
so far. The only thing I have on the agenda so far is the Trial
Lawyers who
will make a presentation on their mission to combat an insurance
industry
initiative to undo some legislation passed this year by the
legislature,
regarding credit checks for receiving insurance coverage. And they
have not
even confirmed yet.
Anyone have any other ideas? I have been wondering about ways to make
our
meetings have more dialog with the PCO's, like doing training, or
discussing
an issue.
Maybe an endorsement of Russ? Wow talk about opening a can of worms
huh!?!
Do we want to have an endorsement policy, or just stay out of it?
Thank you,
Jim
